OUR JOURNEY

THE BEGINING

Founding and Early Years (2003 - 2014)

Founders and Vision
PCEA Nanyuki Preschool was established in May 2003 by the PCEA Nanyuki Local Church. The founders were driven by a passion for early childhood education and envisioned creating a nurturing environment where young children could cultivate a lifelong love for learning.

Location and Facilities
The preschool initially operated out of a small garage and an old church building. It consisted of one classroom, a modest playground, and a dedicated team of three teachers. Despite the limited facilities, the founders worked tirelessly to make the school a welcoming and supportive space for children.

Mission and Goals
The school’s mission was to provide a holistic education that fostered intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, moral, and social growth. With a focus on play-based learning, creativity, and exploration, the curriculum was designed to nurture well-rounded individuals.

Initial Challenges
In its early years, the preschool faced significant challenges, including limited funding and the need to establish its reputation within the community. However, through perseverance and a strong commitment to quality education, these obstacles were gradually overcome.

Early Programs and Curriculum
The preschool offered programs for children aged 3-5 years. The curriculum emphasized activities such as storytelling, arts and crafts, basic numeracy and literacy skills, and outdoor play. Social skills development and fostering curiosity were central to the educational approach.

Growth and Development (2006 - Today)

Increase in Enrollment

By 2006, positive word of mouth and glowing feedback from parents led to a steady increase in enrollment. The preschool’s student body doubled, reflecting the community’s growing trust in the institution.

Infrastructure Expansion
In the same year, the school moved from the church compound to its current location, which featured spacious classrooms and a well-equipped playground. This move was pivotal in accommodating the rising number of learners and enhancing the learning environment.

Staff Development
To support the expanding student population, the school hired additional qualified teachers and support staff. Professional development programs were introduced to ensure that the staff remained up-to-date with the latest educational practices.

Curriculum Enhancements
During this period, the school’s curriculum underwent continuous refinement to include more structured learning activities. Special programs in music, art, and physical education were introduced, enriching the students’ educational experience and fostering their overall development.
